Who is April?
April Lavalle is a New York native. She fell in love with the theatre in Pre-School, after her star making turn as "The Virgin Mary" in her school's Christmas Pageant. After that rousing 20 minute stint, it was safe to say that April was hooked, and has been performing and training ever since. She has performed in 9 different countries, spanning from China to France, and all across the United States. Her travels took her everywhere from on stage at Euro Disney to studying Commedia Dell'Arte in Amsterdam. She has appeared on camera with College Humor and Teen Nick (with Nick Cannon), and has performed in over 70 live theatre productions. She has had the opportunity to work under Tony Winner Michele Pawk, John Carrafa, Andrew Glant-Linden, and Tony Nominee Marcia Milgrom-Dodge (to name a few). In May of 2013, April earned her BA in Theatre Performance and Speech from Wagner College. While not on stage, April writes and performs sketch comedy and does a ton of improv. She is currently in the advanced study program at UCB. She has studied under Erik Tanouye, Shaun Diston, Don Fanelli, Zack Willis and a bunch of other teachers who she loves very much. She is very active in the indie comedy scene with her two teams, Broth and Bosley. She can be seen with Broth every Wednesday at 7pm at the Brit Pack, where they host a weekly comedy show. April is also a regular contributor to Reductress, a women’s parody magazine. April currently resides in NYC with her cats and her live-in lover. Follow her on twitter @imatoofbrush.
